Fostering Transparency and Stakeholder Involvement

Issues, challenges and concerns related to RFID and the Internet of Things are plentiful and diverse. As the RFID technology is evolving, the European Commission will continue to respond to all of these and engage in open platform discussions with stakeholders such as businesses, consumer organisations and national and European authorities.

Global interoperability is of key importance, and so it is a common understanding of values such as privacy and security, based on open, fair and transparent international standards. For this reason, the European Commission will intensify its international co-operation particularly in North America and Asia.
